"You are all part of our team now," said the HR manager during the welcoing briefing. "You get all the usual benefits and you cna go to the cafeteria for something to eat, but please don't eat any of the other employees."

The cannibals promised they would not.

Four weeks later, their boss remarked, "You're all working very hard, and I'm satisfied with you. However, one of our Admin girls has disappeared. Do any of you know what happened to her?"

The cannibals all shook their heads indicating, "no."

After the boss had left, the leader of the cannibals said to the others, "Which one of you idiots ate the Admin chick?"

A hand ross hesitantly, to which the leader of the cannibals continued, "You fool!!!!!!"

For four weeks we've been eating Managers and Supervisors and no one noticed anything, but noooooooo, you had had to go and eat someone who actually works!!!"

OR

A young engineer was leaving the offic4e at 3:45 when he found the Acting CEO standing in front of a shredder with a piece of paper in his hand.

"Listen," said the Acting CEO, "this is a very sensitive and important document, and my secretary is not here. Can you make this thing work?"

"Certainly," said the young engineer. He turned the machine on, inserted the paper, and pressed the start button.

"Excellent, excellent!" said the Acting CEO as his paper disappeared inside the machine. "I just need two copies."

Lesson: Never, never, never ever assume that your boss knows what he/she's doing.
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/kidlit.com
Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00380169629035410557noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8537863831987011463.post-10834418484413189662010-02-05T09:50:00.001-08:002010-02-05T09:55:42.574-08:00Upon Request Internet talk radioWhat is Upon Request Internet talk radio?

Remember when you went into a diner and sat at a table there was a small version of a juke box?

Well, PIVTR has created a juke box for playing audio and video shows Upon Request.
Like the juke box, you must deposit coins in the slots, pick your selection and it started playing your favorite music.
This week ONLY, February 5 through February 12, PIVTR will run a Beta Version of Upon Request. These are careers that are physically and mentally demanding, but which offer wages and benefits on which a family can be supported.

The EOGP offers educational institutions and community based organizations an opportunity to help fill the demand for a skilled workforce by preparing participants for placement in high wage union construction jobs and access to public as well as private construction jobs throughout the State.

The Employment Opportunities Grant Program creates a stronger pipeline of trained workers who have the skill set to obtain and keep jobs in the construction trades. By opening these doors, we are increasing the diversity within this industry and preparing more people for careers in this vital field, which will help keep our workforce strong and competitive and provide better opportunities for our working families.

Program participants will be members of one or more historically underrepresented populations, which can include African-Americans, Hispanics, females, and African-American and Hispanic youth, including new high school graduates. The funded programs will not only help cultivate workplace and technical skills, but will also build career awareness and exploration, address basic reading and math preparation and provide mentoring, so that this sector of the workforce will be more diverse.

PROGRAM CONTACT

Deveda François
Program Manager
Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity
100 West Randolph, Suite 3-400
Chicago, IL 60601
(312) 793-9702
Deveda.Francois@illinois.gov

Visit CHICAGO'S BLACK BUSINESS NETWORK at: http://chicagosblackbusinessnetwork.ning.com/?xg_source=msg_mes_network
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/kidlit.com
Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00380169629035410557noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8537863831987011463.post-80753436890242366542010-01-18T07:28:00.000-08:002010-01-18T07:30:00.287-08:00Astro Cast with Flash SilvermoonFEBRUARY ASTROFLASH BY FLASH SILVERMOON

When even your most materialist friends call you up and say,"What is going on in those stars?", with panic in their voices, you know that there is an energetic shift that is reaching down to the inner most souls of the masses.
I am not saying that one should be in such a state of dread but it all reflects how well we deal with change.
I know, our president made the word CHANGE not only pleasurable but a battle cry to which we would all face the future. Be that as it may, most of us do not deal very well with change.
The difficult square between Saturn and Pluto has been holding us all in a kind of vice grip for months and February begins with an exact square between those two harsh planets.Good news though, this is softened a little as Jupiter begins its passage through Pisces. Saturn and Pluto also begin to separate as the month unfolds bringing much more ease and sense of freedom.
"So what does this mean for me?", you ask and rightly so! Bottom line, if you rally the courage to create the life that truly resonates with the core of who you are even if that is risky, there will be some buoyant universal push to help absorb the shock waves as you find a new world opening to you.
Speaking of shock waves, we may continue to have various earthquakes and eruptions around the world in seismic hot spots. This is in part Saturn and Pluto's nasty little wrestling match as Saturn is about structure and the earth and Pluto is about deep transformations from within.
You may have heard the old occult axiom AS ABOVE SO BELOW. This is also exactly what is manifesting in our political system and relationships as well.
If you have been seeking balance and honesty in your relationships then you are paving the way, no matter how difficult, for a really sound and nurturing bond that can provide a fulfilling structure for all.
If power struggles, denial and dishonesty prevail, then you will see the harsher sides of these aspects. The same is true in the political arena and it seems that daily some "solid citizen" is found with his pants down pandering to the very issues that he protests. Ah, Politriks..see how they run!
Nice to be out of Mercury Retrograde which gives us a fighting chance of real communication but Mars is still going backwards which is tending to make us all a bit growly as we continue to feel like we are driving with the brakes on if we can indeed drive at all.
The New Moon on Feb.13 in Aquarius is surrounded by a whole pile up of planets in Aquarius and Pisces. Jupiter is really softening Pluto now too so if you were waiting to exhale, this is your time and should also usher in a most luscious Feast of Aphrodite. Being a good Pagan, I like to celebrate my Holy Days for a week.
As some of you must know St Valentine was not such a groovy guy in fact he was kind of blood thirsty so if you are wanting to celebrate at this time , why not look to Aphrodite as she is much sweeter. If you prefer a Goddess of the African Diaspora, the Yoruba Orisha, Oshun would be your Lady.
I can see how this time will be rich in sensuous delights as well as feelings of deep soul connection. This could well be the time to connect with someone who really resonates with all of you. Somebody who you shares your most important beliefs will be in high demand as Venus and Jupiter dance the night away or perhaps take a mystical journey on a purple velvet magic carpet. Enjoy!!!
FEAST OF APHRODITE SPECIAL $10 OFF COMPATIBILITY CHARTS
CALL FLASH SILVERMOON 352 4752432

ARIES - I am an Aries, no doubt about that and as you all know, patience is NOT one of my virtues, although I have many. This retro Mars is starting to really piss me off, I mean we Aries do not play the waiting game. "The time is now and now is all we have" are not just words to me they are a way of life. I may bash my head as I run head long into everything but believe me I get a lot more out of life that way, at least I think so, but then maybe it is the only way that I know but you really wouldn't want me any other way, I am a lot of fun!

TAURUS - Being a good Taurus, I am well versed in the ways of Aphrodite and I look forward to this time every year when the Goddess of Love reigns supreme.Of course a Taurus would like this to be a way of life for every week of the year.Dark chocolate covered strawberries that drip their luscious fluid down my chin as I share one with my lover wrapped in red satin sheets.Soft lights, good music and a fine dinner and you really have my attention and believe me it is well worth having. If you want your own personal Love Goddess, you can come up and see me sometime.

GEMINI - Double your pleasure double your fun with a Gemini, that is if we can get on the same page at the same time. I really love it if we can talk. My brain is my most significant erogenous zone but I can really get into my body by giving and getting a good massage. Gemini hands are magic and have a mind of their own. I know how tension can make the body tighten up so I am all about lightening up.These days, I am so full of energy that I am constantly having to find hew ways to release tension. Let's talk about finding some good ways together.

CANCER - No self respecting Cancer likes to be too stirred up in the Cuisinart of change its so unsettling and especially if it involves my home or family. Don't bore me, I am more resilient than that but there is something so deeply relaxing about curling up in a cozy space that you know has everything that you could possibly need. With so much uncertainty these days any way that I can anchor myself feels pretty good. I am going to let you orbit me for awhile and maybe two can share this nest. It is the feast of Aphrodite you know.

LEO - You know you really want a Leo to warm you up on a cold winter night and I will dress to impress. Even with Mars retro in my sign, I have lots to offer. I know how to coax the spotlight just so it can frame my every move so if you are a shrinking violet or closet case you might want to find yourself a Virgo or someone who is not so high profile. By the way, I am not arrogant, I am just a Leo without a self esteem problem. If ya got it flaunt it. As the infamous Leo, Mae West, once said, "Those who are outraged too easily should be outraged more frequently."

VIRGO - Now Ms Leo, we Virgos do know how to have a good time, we just do it differently than you do and I might add, that we are much more refined in our approach. I don't lay my self across your bed, brass or otherwise. I am not easy but I am available if you know how to talk to me. Now that Saturn got off of my behind, I am a whole lot freer but I am still a bit of a perfectionist, no judgements but one has to maintain standards and mine are high. Sometimes I just get so tired of myself that I will throw caution to the wind and have no standards at all. That doesn't usually work too well.

LIBRA - Balance Virgo, balance, that's the key. We Libras have to have that or we just don't feel right. I get the Saturn thing though, what a damn wet blanket. Me, Libra, the social butterfly, feels like a lead balloon and I so want to meet my soul mate but how can I. I feel like I take everything so seriously now and I'd rather be at least able to make small talk but sometimes I find myself silent. Please do not think that I am morose and don't want to be social, I do , actually more than ever but it is really hard to get out of myself at times. Maybe a good political cause can make me feel both more alive and more congruent with my purpose. So many needing Equal Rights, I am sure a good struggle with DOMA will just set my Libran heart to twitter, and I don't mean the APP!

SCORPIO - "I said hey now sugar, take a walk on the wild side do do do do do do di do do." How often does the secretive Scorpio break into song? Just felt a need to flex my sexual magnetism because Libra and Virgo were just getting too heavy. I am with Taurus this month even though we are opposites but opposites attract and we do have the same agenda. Let me tell ya, I can be more demure than a Cancer, more sensual than a Taurus, more On It than an Aries, harder to get than a Virgo, and sexier than....well, no one is sexier than a Scorpio at the risk of sounding as humble as a Leo! Give me half a chance, and I will deny it all like a Pisces and slink back into the Scorpio shadows.

SAGITTARIUS - I have to hand it to ya Scorpio, once you get going, look out! My fantasies are taking on a more lofty nature but a good physical romp especially in some exotic place or at least some exotic restaurant would be just the ticket. As a matter of fact, there is nothing more romantic to me than having to venture out to find my heart's desire.
After all, she can't just be around the corner, we Sagittarians need a quest! The Holy Grail would be interesting but perhaps too over the top even for me. Jupiter, my ruler, does like to do it in a Big Way so while Mars is still retro, I will ponder and dream.

CAPRICORN - Good thing you have a Capricorn around . We don;t dream and ponder, we DO. Look at the crapper that Pluto in Sagittarius left us over the last dozen or so years and you will see why we had to get down to business when it shifted to Capricorn last January. I firmly believe that you can't just dream, you have to be able to make those dreams and ideas manifest on the earth or it ain't worth squat. Do I sound bitter? Nah its just that I have that little Demi god Pluto riding me and I frankly have never felt quite so driven. Kind of makes me feel like if I don't do it, no one will.

AQUARIUS - Goodbye Jupiter, it was grand but honestly I have so many other Aquarian planets on my dance card that it will actually be a relief to have one less. Go give Pisces all your kozmic goodies. What with Siamese twins Neptune and Chiron making everything fuzzy while vying for my attention and the Sun,Venus, and even Mercury trying to dazzle me with their favors, I am a bit overwhelmed by it all. This quirky Aquarius doesn't know which delicacy to sample first on my inter-planetary smorgasbord. Like Gemini, if you want to get into my bed, you had better intrigue and seduce my mind. You wanted to know the way in? That's the way, OK.

PISCES - Are you kidding you freaky Aquarian, I would love to cope with Jupiter's gifts that reach all the way out to other Universes, not that I mind this one. With Uranus zapping me every other minute with her electric stun gun, a wave of good fortune will suit me just fine. I have been so worried about all the charities that I want to support. I want to help the people AND the animals in Haiti and get Food stamps for horses and more meat for Tigers and, and, and, with a budget that only takes care of me and mine, my larger visions have had to take a back seat but sweet Jupiter, you can be my sugar daddy and fill my coffers.
Just so you don't think that I am a total Material Girl, this Pisces is totally jazzed about the possibility of meeting my soul mate as the Feast of Aphrodite approaches. Where's my red candle!

In case you haven’t noticed, this is not your Mama’s Astrological report. I deliberately let the signs talk right to you, giving them a voice that really tells it like it is!

I have endeavored to make it more gender neutral to speak to all sexual preferences and identities.
If you know your Rising sign, your personal reading will be more accurate if you read the passage for that sign as well as your Sun sign.
For deeper questions and readings of an Astrological or Psychic nature, feel free to call 352 4752432 for an apt.or contact me through my website www.Flashsilvermoon.com

ENJOY MY BLOG FLASHES OF INSIGHT
http://flashsilvermoon.com/insight/

WHAT THE ANIMALS TELL ME w/Flash Silvermoon -Nationally known Animal Communicator and Psychic
every Wed 8:30-9PM EST www.Internetvoicesradio.com call ins encouraged 1507 7264217 plus 100363# new phone number

Next session of Moonhaven Mystery School for Women Mon. The whole story is here, but it does not go into how FaceBook has also banned advertising from numerous other gay business, while at the same time allowing ads for other things that curl the pages—foot fetishists, massage services, etc.

I think it is an interesting story, and one we should pay attention to, because as print venues die, social networking sites have taken on a power hard to fathom: FaceBook now reaches 100 million people.

That is a lot of people to withhold information from.

http://outinjersey.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=608:facing-homophobia-with-facebook&Itemid=1
Perry

Perry Brass
belhuepress@earthlink.net
www.perrybrass.com
through Smashwords
Also on FaceBook & Twitter
& now workshops:
http://manlyartworkshop.eventbrite.com
author of the new book
The Manly Art of Seduction How to Meet, Talk To, and Become Intimate With Anyone.
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/kidlit.com
Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00380169629035410557noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8537863831987011463.post-89934452603928382322010-01-07T18:09:00.000-08:002010-01-07T18:11:28.138-08:00U. It also provides a clean safe place where the homeless can come off the streets for a shower and a change of clothing…. and much more.
To donate to the soup kitchen using a credit card visit http://www.cskdetroit.org
The 11 authors’ stories can be heard for the next 2 weeks free “On Demand” internetvoicesradio.com/Arch-Rowena.htm There are 3 two-hour and one one-hour tapes. The mp3 recordings can be purchased for $3.50. Royalties go to the Soup Kitchen.
More details: Lillian Cauldwell lsaracauldwell@gmail.com
Rowena Cherry said this on Your comment is awaiting moderation. December 23rd, 2009 at 10:59 am
I thoroughly enjoyed all of the short stories. In the two o’clock to four pm session, Detroit author Cindy Spencer Pape read “Christmas at Morts” which was, most appropriately, about a Homeless lady.
Southern author Loretta Wheeler read a very clever short piece titled The Pan Man.
Brenna Lyons shared two science fiction/fantasy pieces. One Hour Burial was a powerful and horrific –in a tasteful and understated way– “what-if” tale.
The Stone Lord is a story that Brenna shares for free on her website, and developed from an interesting premise about magic that Brenna explained on air.
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/kidlit.com
Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00380169629035410557noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8537863831987011463.post-60207364167687875842009-12-20T05:58:00.000-08:002009-12-20T05:59:46.271-08:00Military TributeThe embers glowed softly, and in their dim light,
I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight.
My wife was asleep, her head on my chest,
My daughter beside me, angelic in rest.
Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white,
Transforming the yard to a winter delight.

The sparkling lights in the tree I believe,
Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve.
My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep,
Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep.
In perfect contentment, or so it would seem,
So I slumbered, perhaps I started to dream.

The sound wasn't loud, and it wasn't too near,
But I opened my eyes when it tickled my ear..
Perhaps just a cough, I didn't quite know, Then the
sure sound of footsteps outside in the snow.
My soul gave a tremble, I struggled to hear,
And I crept to the door just to see who was near.

Standing out in the cold and the dark of the night,
A lone figure stood, his face weary and tight.
A soldier, I puzzled, some twenty years old,
Perhaps a Marine, huddled here in the cold.
Alone in the dark, he looked up and smiled,
Standing watch over me, and my wife and my child.

"What are you doing?" I asked without fear,
"Come in this moment, it's freezing out here!
Put down your pack, brush the snow from your sleeve,
You should be at home on a cold Christmas Eve!"
For barely a moment I saw his eyes shift,
Away from the cold and the snow blown in drifts..

To the window that danced with a warm fire's light
Then he sighed and he said "Its really all right,
I'm out here by choice. I'm here every night."
"It's my duty to stand at the front of the line,
That separates you from the darkest of times.

No one had to ask or beg or implore me,
I'm proud to stand here like my fathers before me.
My Gramps died at ' Pearl on a day in December,"
Then he sighed, "That's a Christmas 'Gram always remembers."
My dad stood his watch in the jungles of ' Nam ',
And now it is my turn and so, here I am.

I've not seen my own son in more than a while,
But my wife sends me pictures, he's sure got her smile.
Then he bent and he carefully pulled from his bag,
The red, white, and blue... an American flag.
I can live through the cold and the being alone,
Away from my family, my house and my home.

I can stand at my post through the rain and the sleet,
I can sleep in a foxhole with little to eat.
I can carry the weight of killing another,
Or lay down my life with my sister and brother..
Who stand at the front against any and all,
To ensure for all time that this flag will not fall.."

" So go back inside," he said, "harbor no fright,
Your family is waiting and I'll be all right."
"But isn't there something I can do, at the least,
"Give you money," I asked, "or prepare you a feast?
It seems all too little for all that you've done,
For being away from your wife and your son."

Then his eye welled a tear that held no regret,
"Just tell us you love us, and never forget.
To fight for our rights back at home while we're gone,
To stand your own watch, no matter how long.
For when we come home, either standing or dead,
To know you remember we fought and we bled.
Is payment enough, and with that we will trust,
That we mattered to you as you mattered to us."

PLEASE, would you do me the kind favor of sending this to as many
people as you can? Christmas will be coming soon and some credit is due to our
U.S service men and women for our being able to celebrate these
festivities. We may all be a bit groggy from a Blue Moon Lunar Eclipse in Cancer from the night before and or too much New Year's cheer.
Some of us may have made resolutions that may become a distant memory by mid month but if you wait to make your resolutions til mid month, you just might keep them.
I must admit that it will be hard to feel too much forward motion at the beginning of the month because Mercury, Mars, and Saturn are all retrograde. This means that the energy of these planets must wander inward before manifesting anything outwardly hence many situations can feel as if they are stuck in the mud or at least in slow mo.
The trick is to not waste too much energy pushing the river just because we have a New Year.. Winter time is always a time of contraction, of sorting out your life and options so no rush. Allow your options to be viewed like a tasty smorgasbord and if possible sample but don't get too attached to anything just yet.
If you have been in a funk or feeling kind of grumpy for the past month or so you are not alone. It's not even seasonal depression but a rather funky square aspect between Saturn and Pluto and a sluggish Mars that is causing all the fuss. These energies can make us even more conscious of our security needs which can cause fear for some. Of course if you become too involved with the madness of the fear mongers that pollute the air waves this energy will be heightened.
This is a wonderful time for self-examination as many issues that can remain hidden during easier times, are ripe for exploration now as Pluto demands that we dig deep into our core to become even more authentic and Saturn can give us the fortitude to do so. In this way, one can truly plumb the fertile darkness that may reveal hidden gifts if we are willing to take the time and effort to "get dirty".
On the lighter side of things, the Sun and Venus will be conjoined in Capricorn on Jan 8 with Mercury and Pluto occupying the same sign as well. Not exactly light because Saturn rules Capricorn. We can complain about the heaviness of the time or we can make heavy lemonade which can allow us to create sturdy structures that will in the long run give us a true and reliable security, this is Saturn's gift for those who are patient and not afraid to break a sweat.
Jan 13 will mark the beginning of Saturn's retro motion so we will get a chance to double check all of our decisions. Lots of changes mid month and managing to keep our balance will be interesting.
As if this wasn't enough intensity, the Annular Solar Eclipse in Capricorn occurs on Jan. 15 as Mercury comes out of retrograde.
Fortunately, sweet Venus is snuggling up to the Sun and Moon that are already quite cozy with each other making this a good time for romance.
The good news, is that all the energies that have been held back will flood forward and that can also be the bad news because if there has been a lot of frustration, which is likely on some fronts, angry words may also fly out of the box as well.
No doubt the whole Health Care Reform is being stymied by these regressive energies as well as fear mongering that has been hovering about the issue for a long time. With Saturn in the egalitarian sign of Libra, there is a strong need to make things FAIR and to some extent that can be most subjective and hence time consuming.
I must say, that I could think of several issues right off the top of my head that could be passed to institute a more egalitarian way of life like Marriage and the rights that offers for everyone who wants to be married, end DOMA, and Don't Ask Don't Tell and Equal Rights and Pay for everyone. What a fascinating experience that would be.
On Jan. 17 Jupiter will enter Pisces and finally separate all the way from its long time buddies Neptune and Chiron who will remain Siamese twins for this month as well.
Neptune periodically offers a rosy glow over these challenging times and it is crucial to balance these times of intensity with joy, pleasure, and light heartedness. Find the places and activities that help you to lighten up. In this way, you can find enjoyable and creative solutions for some of the tougher choices and changes we are encountering.
We will be defining what is truly important and ideally moving in that direction.
What are you made of and how do you want to move forward into this New Year, THE CHOICE IS YOURS, choose to use all of your options.

The New Year is a great time to gift yourself or others with a look at the road map for your future,YOUR ASTROLOGICAL CHART. Learn about the best timing for projects, love and much much more Call Flash Silvermoon 352 4752432

ARIES - What the hell! Mars moving backwards all month? I am just not having it. I need to move and action is my primary way of being in the world. I don't want to think too much about what i am doing that spoils my spontaneity which is like the air that I breathe. I want to speak to the management about this problem and.. I refuse to be tardy for the party.

TAURUS - Retro Mars, Saturn, no biggie with me. Slow and steady wins the race that's my way and a slower pace for me feels just right. Anything that is of value is worth waiting for and taking one's time that way you know what you are getting into or out of for that matter. And...sometimes slow can be absolutely delicious if you catch my drift.

GEMINI - Difficult times call for creative solutions and I have a dozen that I have been nurturing for the past week or so. The more challenges, the more I journal, blog and communicate. It helps me to stretch out my thoughts and look at all the options before me so that I do the right thing. I must admit, I do change my mind a bit but maybe the changes won;t come as fast for now.

CANCER - Everyone is so damned focused on their careers and making money. I have known all my life how to make something from nothing, how to stretch a meal or a budget. There's nothing more important than sitting around the table with friends and family and sharing a home cooked dinner or at least a good piping hot drink and pie. If you want to really feel at home and nurtured, c'mon over.

LEO - What a burn! Mars is in my sign all month but it doesn't want to go anywhere. I will have to really get very creative with all my energy and I know I can always do something. I just hope that somebody notices me because half of the reason that I create is to express myself but it can feel sort of empty if nobody sees me.

VIRGO - Leo, is there no end to your need for ego gratification?
Sometimes you have to do things that other people need to really make a difference.I still feel like I have a lot to accomplish and I look forward to the opportunities that the New Year offers. I know that I will be doing my part to push the envelope towards a more humane world.

LIBRA - I like the way you are thinking Virgo. My problem is that I have a hard time deciding which cause to throw my energy into so I wind up all over the place. I wouldn't want anyone to think that I was disinterested in their issues because one person's struggle is every one's struggle. One thing I do know is that equality needs to go all the way around.

SCORPIO -I like to really focus on one thing, one person, the deeper the better. How can you ever really know someone if you spill your energy everywhere. I am not always willing but true intimacy is my goal if I have to be honest. I am surprised that I am telling you all my secrets here but sometimes one must reveal to attract the one who can actually connect with enough depth to make it interesting.

SAGITTARIUS - "Don't ask me nothin' about nothin', 'cause I just might tell ya the truth." Uh huh with the tension lately my nerves are stretched to the limit so excuse me if I do not sugar coat but I really want to get to the bottom of things and then move along. I am tired of making excuses for everybody and leaving my needs unmet.I'm taking names.

CAPRICORN - I have to say that I am feeling right at home with all the Capricorn planets floating around me. I like to keep busy and have something to show for it at the end of the day . I am also willing to work long and hard to meet my responsibilities which are many but then I have the satisfaction to know it was done RIGHT! People respect me and they should because I respect myself and take pride in my accomplishments and that matters to me.

AQUARIUS - I am still feeling pulled by Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron which makes it hard to take a solid position on anything but Jupiter will be moving into Pisces so the overwhelm factor will not be so strong for a change. I do feel like I have gotten a better handle on parts of my personality that have literally been under construction these months. I like who is showing up these days.

PISCES - Oh Jupiter, you big old planet, I am so ready for your grand wisdom and style. It will be quite the contrast to having Saturn and its contracted ways dogging my every step so bring it, I AM READY! Haven't had nearly enough laughs and giggles and you are nothing if not humorous. Even if I have some tough lessons still , if I can have some humor to make the medicine go down that really works for me.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL
BLESSINGS FLASH SILVERMOON

In case you haven’t noticed, this is not your Mama’s Astrological report. If you do click on the link in the bogus e-mail, you will launch a variant of the Zapchast Trojan virus. Zapchast installs an Internet Relay (IRC) chat client and causes the infected computer to connect to an IRC channel. Attackers then use that connection to remotely command your machine.

If you receive an authentic e-card from Hallmark, there will be a confirmation number on the e-card. The links at

the top of the page are the new and improved system that we have been working on over the past month or so, and these links (which may/ will take a change in shape) will be on every page within the site.

Check out the difference of the 2 links and I will explain the links:

The LISTEN LIVE link will be used for your LIVE shows. Listeners can simply click that button to listen live.

The ON DEMAND link is where they will now be able to listen to pre-recorded shows.

Normally we record your show, post the MP3 on your archives page, in the VIP section and on the mobile phone site (This hasnt been released to the public yet). Well this will be changing very quickly. We will be posting the recorded shows to the on demand so this will eliminate the MP3s from all archives pages. Now your archives pages can be used exclusively for your personal information as well as open a larger door for you to advertise your up and coming shows!!!! The VIP section of the website will also be eliminated (sorta) and turned into a RSS Feeds page where the pre-recorded shows will still be available for download/ purchase. There will be numerous options for purchasing the shows

1: Purchase an Individual show

2: Purchase a weeks worth of shows

3: Or purchase the entire months worth of shows.

Once a purchase has been made (week or month) listeners will automatically be updated with any new shows that are posted for that time period within the feed.

Now what does all of this mean to you and your loyal listeners?

MUCH easier navigation of the website,

Less maintenance and upkeep of the server, by consolidating everything,

To keep costs down for the daily maintenance,

To move forward with the latest technology available

Banner Advertising is at our fingertips with the new players (we are still working on a price list as well as incentives for advertising)

The ON DEMAND player will carry ONE months worth of shows on it and be continually updated (add something new, delete something old) and the RSS FEEDS page will still carry a min of 3 months worth of archived shows. The shows within the RSS feeds that we have built currently start at the beginning of November 2009 and will move forward from that date. Shows prior to Nov can still be made available as always by contacting Lillian with date and host name.

Website cleanup:

I will be clearing out a LOT of links that are wasting space and making things hard for people to navigate and find what they are after. A simple example is the 3 Military links. This will be consolidated into one link and then branch off from the central Military page, thus eliminating 2 links from the current menu. Tom can you send me some new poems to post, and Everett, can you send me some updated military info. These pages have not been updated in forever and need some immediate help.

NEEDED INFO:

Our blog send in your info weekly to Brittany (upcoming schedule, book signings, whats new etc) so that she can add this info to the site. Bubblewrap92@yahoo.com Please remember to CC Lillian and myself. Creating a mail list from your current e-mail with all 3 of us in it will make things quick and simple to contact us all in one shot J

EVERY host page: I need your upcoming schedule no later that Saturday of every week if you want me to keep your page updated. Right now there is only ONE host that does this weekly, and one that does it monthly. If we keep your pages updated with your next schedule show, then YOU open the door to MORE listeners!!!!! If you have no bio or explanation of what your show is about on your current archives page, I will need that sent in also. If we arent going to keep these pages updated on a regular basis, then we will consider eliminating all of the unused pages, and open up more server space for the next venture that is coming LIVE VIDEO STREAMS

2010 is coming fast, and we are planning on WOWing EVERYBODY, so lets all put a little effort into this and start this year with a GIANT BANG!

As always questions, comments, and/or ideas are ALWAYS welcome!!! If you have any, please fwd to myself and Lillian. I will be starting this venture Sunday morn around 4:30am CST so try to have the ideas in before then so that everything and everyones opinion can be considered with all of the changes!

Steve
Basement_troll1@mchsi.com
DuctTape4E1@yahoo.com
lillian.cauldwell@gmail.com
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/kidlit.com
Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00380169629035410557noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8537863831987011463.post-65666805030522111492009-12-01T09:03:00.000-08:002009-12-02T07:55:14.207-08:00Science Fiction Romance AuthorsCrazy Tuesday with host Rowena Cherry and guests: Heather Massey, Doug Knipe, Lisa Paitz-Spindler and Ella Drake discussed science fiction romance.

Please go and listen to the podcast at http://internetvoicesradio.com/crazytuesday.
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/kidlit.com
Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00380169629035410557noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8537863831987011463.post-27699284811562930522009-11-24T08:05:00.000-08:002009-11-24T08:07:29.632-08:00CRAZY TUESDAY elected for EPPIE NominationAnn Arbor, November 24th 2009

PIVTR's 'CRAZY TUESDAY' show is nominated for the prestigious EPIC "Friend of e-Publishing" Award.

Electronically Published Internet Connection (EPIC) President, Brenna Lyons says:

"Rowena (Cherry) has been an anti-piracy advocate for many years. She's also been instrumental in starting and maintaining several anti-piracy groups, including Charlee Boyett-Compo's AuthorsAgainstE-BookTheft Yahoogroup, and supports still more. She's used her radio show to do shows on things like anti-piracy, copyright, and authors helping authors, which not only helps the industry but EPIC, as well. Rowena has wonderful contacts in the industry and is often sought for quotes and interviews, which she refers to EPIC in often. She's one of our biggest supporters, and she's certainly doing her all to support the industry. Anna-Mae doesn’t do it alone, of course — she’s got the help of her eight-year-old brother Malcolm, her best friend Raul Garcia, three remarkably supportive grandparents and…a giant disembodied black fist, accompanied by a host of other supernatural phenomena.

Told from the perspective of two black kids and a Hispanic one growing up in rural Georgia, the book neither shies away from the obvious facts about race — like that all the members of a junior high clique are often the same color — nor invests them with the sort of futile hand-wringing sometimes engaged in by adults who see race primarily as a “problem” to be “solved.” Mostly, though, it’s an adventure story, pure and simple, focused on a bright girl who finds it hard to fit in sometimes, has a little brother who’s equal parts extremely useful and a pain in the rear, and occasionally finds her best friend kinda cute in a way that makes her insides a bit “gooey.” AnnArbor.com chatted with Cauldwell about it recently.
Q: Tell me how this book came to be.

A: I wanted to write a book for multicultural kids. I wanted them to know that girls could have adventures as well as boys can and that girls can think and solve problems — and yet (as tweens) they’re also in what I call “purgatory“. They’re not toddlers, they’re not holding their parents’ hands, but they don’t want mid-teens giving them trouble. They don’t know who they are, where they’re going, what people are doing, but here they are in junior high — they’re in the big leagues. And depending on how your junior high is set up, you may even be sharing space with the big kids, so…at any one time, there’s always a group that’s a little superior. I know how they’re feeling, and I wanted to get that across.

And I wanted to get across that life isn’t fair — but before you can do anything, you have to find out who you are, learn how to deal with what’s bugging you, and learn to get along. You can’t just disappear; you’re going have to deal with whatever problem comes along, and you usually have to do it by yourself. So to me, being that age meant that you were in the middle of nowhereland. I remember what it was like, and I remember what it was like watching my kid go through it, too. He was gifted, very smart, and his sophistication was up there with grown-ups…but his maturity was on the floor. (Laughs.)

Q: There’s lots of crazy supernatural stuff going on here! Are you a believer in the supernatural in general?
A: A lot of it was research. I’ve had one or two experiences that I don’t share much because people who haven’t been there don’t understand. My husband is an organic chemist, so there’s no way he’s going to believe that there’s anything else besides us out there. A ghost could walk through him and he wouldn’t believe it. But I’ve had those experiences, and I’ve known other people who’ve had those experiences, especially around this age. At this age…you’re more open to other things that may happen.

Q: What drew you to the mystery of Jefferson Davis’ lost gold?
A: I wanted them to find the lost treasure. I did not want my kids on a mystery where they found dead bodies or got shot; there’s plenty of that in the world and other folks can do a better job of writing it. So I wanted a mystery, and I started researching Davis, and the more I read, the more intrigued I became, because the gold he lost was not all Southern gold. He took out a loan from the French bank with interest, whether or not he won the war. Now, you’re not taught that in history class. And I found out which bankers he borrowed it from, and I discovered that it makes a difference whether you read the Northern or Southern account of the story. (Davis) ran out when the (Confederate) Cabinet fell, and he had a trick for storing the gold so that no one would find out, and he was trying to get it to Savannah to take the gold back to France. So I found the route he took for his great escape and added some of my own touches. ...
Everyone has their own theory about how the gold was carried, where it was buried, why it was buried, so I tried to give enough of the story without digressing too much from the adventure.

Q: I like how you’re very explicit about the systematic way the kids go about putting their clues together. Are you hoping to sneak some critical thinking skills into your readers’ enjoyment?
A: Oh, absolutely. Actually, the book is a plot. (Laughs.) I wanted to show that there are certain things you need to do to take this to its logical conclusion. When I went to school, you had to show all of your work on a problem, so that even though I never got the right answer, my teacher could give me credit for thinking. … I wanted these kids to actually sit down and think about what had taken place, who was involved, and how they got there. One of the things my husband taught me is that if you can’t find something where you think you put it, you can go and retrace your steps and you might find it. And it seemed like a girl would know this instinctively.

Q: Isn’t it interesting that you said your husband taught you, but a girl would know it instinctively?
A: (Laughs.) Well, maybe other girls. My mother knew it, anyway! I do think a big difference is that it seems like girls will go out and find the information they need and store it away for another time. I think that boys do have adventures, but I think girls maybe have better ones because they pay better attention to the details. They use them later because they want to make their lives better, while a guy seems more likely to say he can tough it out the way it is.

Q: You say toward the end of the book that the South is “still fighting the war between the states.” What do you mean by that?
A: A lot of places still have rigid class structures, still have strict rules about who can sit together. … I wanted to get across to kids that no matter where they lived in the United States, there was still superstition and prejudice and (basically) no democracy. There are still racial tensions in this country, and you ignore it at your peril. I had a friend who was a student out west and he decided to drive home to Ohio with a friend, and they stopped in this little town to get gas and a snack and just got this feeling like they better conduct their business and get out of there as fast as possible. On the other hand, I had a friend who was an adult and she and her friend stopped in Tennessee and it was the same thing — they knew they were not welcome and the local law was trying to figure out a way to throw them in jail.

And a kid in this situation acts differently than a grown-up, but they can feel it. They may not be able to say, “Oh, they don’t like me because I’m black,” but they know they’re not welcome. So Anna-Mae, she’s a black child in a white rural school district that’s located in Georgia, so there’s two strikes against her there. And on top of that, she talks to ghosts, so that’s three strikes!

Q: You have some interesting classifications that involve race — you provide names for two classes of white kids, and there’s a suggestion that black Anna-Mae is being treated less well by the authorities than her white antagonist. What conversation about race are you hoping to start?
A: I’m hoping to start (a conversation that says to) girls, and black girls especially, that there’s more to life than being a mother, than following a gang mentality, that they do not need to choose sports or become or a singer or an actress to get ahead. That there are other opportunities. ... And that girls don't need to dumb themselves down. My attitude is more of, “You are fine the way you are, it’s the rest of the world that’s out of whack, and don’t get down to their level. Force them to come up to yours.” There’s no reason for the girls of today to have that kind of attitude or that type (of worldview).

Q: Are you saying that there are no pressures on girls today?
A: No, there are plenty of pressures — you don’t have to look any further than Saturday morning TV! There’s a great deal of conformity and a great deal of pressure to do what’s acceptable. But why is it always the old maid (that we’re supposed to be scared of)? The wicked stepmother? I never hear anything about the wicked stepfather! I guess as I’ve gotten older, I’ve gotten a little more conservative — don’t tell my hippie friends that, but I guess you just do — but it hasn’t gotten any easier to be a girl since I grew up in the ’50s.
And you know that junior high is when you learn how to kiss! I would be foolish if I didn’t recognize that at 12, you start noticing that boys and girls are a little different, and you maybe go a little past kissing. In my second book, Anna-Mae goes overseas and meets a 13-year-old boy, and Raul knows immediately that he’s dangerous, but he doesn’t know if he should shoot the guy or befriend him. And that’s how it goes at that age.

Q: I like that your son (cartoonist Ben Caldwell) drew the cover and also that you reference his “Dare Detectives” in the story. Does Anna-Mae ever have a walk-on in his work?
A: Not yet. But he’s very interested. He’s the one who suggested that when I set up the book, I storyboard it. So that was how I did it. He told me that kids want to be entertained, they want to be able to see what’s going on, because today’s world is so visual.

Q: What do you have planned next?
A: (Book Two in the series is) “The Holy Relic,” based against the Solomon and Sheba legend. The whole book is written as one big clue, so you have to figure out what I’m talking about, why Anna-Mae is where she’s at and how she’s going to get out of it. She encounters other people and other types of problems and ultimately realizes that as bad as the United States can be, it’s a lot better than overseas. Which a lot of kids don’t understand — we’re way ahead of the game. We’re not bombed continually, there aren’t troops in the streets. We do not have foreign soldiers living in our homes, our water supply is still working, and we live a pretty comfortable life. I think it’s important for kids to realize that any country can only offer as much as their citizens give back to it — it’s a two-way street. (Laughs.) I don’t say that right out, of course.
After that is “The Tablet of Stone,” which takes place in South America, and the fourth book is “My Mother’s Keeper,” which comes back to the United States. So I’m willing to take (the characters) all the way up until they become adults and have careers as investigators, but I wanted to keep away from murder and mayhem. And there are so many other types of mysteries to be solved! Sometimes they’re right underneath you, and they have just as much power.
You can get "The Anna-Mae Mysteries: The Golden Treasure" at Amazon, Barnes & Noble or Star Publish, LLC, or you can contact email Lillian Cauldwell for a signed copy. In reality, they are fake Web sites designed to steal donations, credit card information and the identities of donors.

Fake Invoices from Delivery Services to Steal Your Money
During the holidays, cybercriminals often send fake invoices and delivery notifications appearing to be from FedEx, UPS or the U.S. Customs Service. They e-mail consumers asking for credit card details to credit back the account, or require users to open an online invoice or customs form to receive the package. Once completed, the person’s information is stolen or malware is automatically installed on their computer.

Social Networking – “A Cybercriminal Wants to be Your Friend”
Cybercriminals take advantage of this social time of the year by sending authentic-looking “New Friend Request” e-mails from social networking sites. Internet users should beware that clicking on links in these e-mails can automatically install malware on computers and steal personal information.

The Dangers of Holiday E-Cards
Cyber thieves cash in on consumers who send holiday e-cards in an effort to be environmentally conscious. Last holiday season, McAfee Labs discovered a worm masked as Hallmark e-cards and McDonald’s and Coca-Cola holiday promotions. Holiday-themed PowerPoint e-mail attachments are also popular among cybercriminals. Be careful what you click on.

“Luxury” Holiday Jewelry Comes at a High Price
McAfee Labs recently uncovered a new holiday campaign that leads shoppers to malware-ridden sites offering “discounted” luxury gifts from Cartier, Gucci, and Tag Heuer. Cybercriminals even use fraudulent logos of the Better Business Bureau to trick shoppers into buying the products they never receive.
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/kidlit.com
Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00380169629035410557noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8537863831987011463.post-61747424281247072312009-11-18T13:32:00.000-08:002009-11-18T13:33:32.350-08:00December AstroflashDECEMBER ASTROFLASH BY FLASH SILVERMOON

December opens its gates with a Full Moon in Gemini on the 2nd so we can expect lots and lots of words. Will we hear the Truth? Now that may be another story entirely depending on how exacting you are about the T word. I have learned that Geminis rarely lie but they do change their minds;so it depends on which twin is talking.
The political and economic log jam that was created when Saturn and Pluto began a most UN-seductive tango with each other will ease up as the two become slightly less intimate in the beginning of the month and drift even further apart as the month continues. This should be quite a relief for all of us who have had the month from hell in November feeling the continual pressure of these 2 planetary energies duking it out all over our minds, bodies and spirits.
By the 17th of December we should start seeing more progress in the world both politically and economically and not just mud slinging and back room arm twisting. We have all been under potentially fear producing energies that have even caused some to question their very survival!
Thankfully Venus and Mars are both in fire signs so they will heat things up and keep are hearts more open as well. Venus in Sag all month will keep us feeling feisty and active which will be necessary to get everything done and still have time for play.
Holiday festivities may be grander too with Mars doing it bigger and better in Leo while on the political side of things Pride could make or break efforts towards peace and domestic policy.
Essentially everyone will want to look like a winner so working with Saturn in Libra's desire for equity, a win win shift could really work. So important for us all to make the quantum leap from the dominance and submission paradigm to willing cooperation.
I want to start calling Jupiter,Neptune and Chiron, the Three Weird Sisters, because these three oh so heavenly bodies have hardly been more than a degree or 2 apart for a year. On the plus side, that they have draped this whole challenging mess in a magical mystical cloak which has allowed us to move ahead with some measure of faith that somehow it will all turn out OK as well as forcing us to dig deep into our self healing and metaphysical bag of tricks.
I believe that we will see even more merging of spiritual and scientific worlds.
On the down side, we will continue to be engaged in more hand washing as one or another flu morphs and chases us around or keeps us hunkered down at home.
The Jupiter/ Neptune effect will likely have us in even more of a daze than usual this holiday season and we will need to be mindful about impulse buying to chase the blues away.
Could be a good time to organize your dreams and aspirations as old Murky Mercury does its 3 week retro dance from Dec.26 to Jan.15. By this time many of you know of mercury retrograde and the way that it can totally screw up forward motion... because the mind and mental processes are going backwards. Solution is to not push the river forward. You want to get all your ducks in a row, weed out all physical and emotional clutter so that when Mercury moves forward on Jan. 15, you will be ready to go!
On New years Eve, we will have a Blue Moon and a Lunar Eclipse, that is, a second Full Moon in the month, this one being in Cancer which will bring a most interesting vibe to our parties. I find the Lunar Eclipses to be very internal times and this one being Cancer, may encourage many more to stay home and have quieter celebrations.
Whatever you choose, listen to your inner wisdom which is always there to give you the best guidance. See ya next year!!!

NEW YEAR'S SPECIAL- $10 OFF on Astrological charts

ARIES - I love anything new so get me out of this month ASAP. I could go on a shopping frenzy but anything to keep me busy will be good right now. Oh fine, another retro Mercury. Saturn and Pluto wore my poor patience to a frazzle and I had so little to start. I will surely need to learn some new meditation skills or Yoga for this one. Actually, maybe I could go cruise the Yoga studio?

TAURUS - Right now, I just want things to feel a little easier. I mean turkey and stuffing and apple pie sending warm cinnamon smells through the house will really work for me. Back to basics and solid values that I can count on to be there next year is what I need. I know nothing is promised but maybe just a little promise please?

GEMINI - It's my Full Moon Yeahhhhhhhhhh let's have a party or go do karaoke or recite our poetry or, let's do it all. If we schedule it right we can make it all happen in one day. Anybody game? OK I will get on Face Book and Twitter and let all my friends know that it is ON! If you miss it not to worry because it will all be on my BLOG tomorrow.

CANCER - OK Gemini you just run wild. This is my big nesting time and I think I will call Taurus up and plan a cooking day because we are on the same page. Spending quality time with old friends really warms my heart and allows me to just slow down and feel my feelings rather than run away from them. Gratitude is my attitude.

LEO - So glad that you noticed Mars in my sign and yes i am on the prowl for my mate. Life just isn't fun without one and I have so much to offer that it would be a waste to not share my heart and enthusiasm.Others may have left you cold. I promise that would never be the case with me. I would make you my Queen and we would rule our world together purring happily.

VIRGO - I am glad that mercury won't be retrograde til after the holidays because I have everything planned just so and I hate to have to rearrange it all. The retro is always so hard for me but I have learned to get ahead of it and now its not so bad. Planning is everything. My cards are organized and stamped. With Saturn off my butt I have so much more energy and I can actually get a lot done and still have time to read and work on my "special projects."

LIBRA - GIVE PEACE A CHANCE wouldn't that be a wonderful gift under every one's Solstice Tree? If the powers that be could see that War never solves anything and good mediation can work wonders where bullets can not.... Trouble is, sometimes we need to create a more equitable way to share and those who have are rarely willing to simply give to those who do not. Everything in balance really works for us all and we all get more rather than less.

SCORPIO - I think it's all about motivation and intention. That's the key to the lock that opens up our willingness. Now don't think for a minute that I will open up and tell you mine. A girl needs some secrets however, if you really take the time to get to know me, all will be revealed. I just need to know that you are interested in depth and substance. Intensity is good but I have learned not to be beguiled by a one trick pony.

SAGITTARIUS - Enough of all this serious talk. I have had 4 years of that and now I am ready to play. Sky's the limit and for me beyond that. Magic Carpet let's set the controls for the hear of the sun and see where that takes us. A bottle of vino or sparkling juice, a hunk of cheese and some really dark chocolate should be all the supplies that we need for an exotic get away. Maybe a DVD of some of my fave comics for this excursion would be just the ticket.

CAPRICORN - I need to understand the core issues around why I am always struggling. I mean, I don't mind hard work, Goddess knows that I can do that just fine but I need more and want more balance in my life. Saturn is getting on my case about that and creating situations for me that demand that I lose my denial blinders. Pluto is compelling but Saturn forces the issue into reality and I am feeling compelled to change my reality.

AQUARIUS - Like it or not, I am in a polygamous marriage with 3 planets. One of them shifts and we all go tumbling after. Sometimes it's a lot of fun but I rarely know where I am going til I get there and even then, it takes me a minute to shake off the fog. I must be learning some deep lessons that I might have been resisting because this pattern just keeps hammering away at me. OK I am learning to have faith and trust already, I give, now can we get back to something resembling consistent reality?

PISCES - Consistent reality? Oh Aquarius, Please! Since when is reality consistent. You at least have Neptune yanking your chain and she can be so seductive. I am dealing with lightning - fast changes that shift in the blink of an eye, third eye or other. Half the time I am so restless that I don't know what to do with myself while other times I am scrambling to keep up with all the new projects that I start. It's all good but sometimes I long for my peaceful pond.

* The Wise Woman's Tarot - http://flashsilvermoon.

* The Wise Woman's Tarot - http://flashsilvermoon.com *
* What The Animals Tell me -
http://internetvoicesradio.com/Arch-FlashSilvermoon.htm *
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/kidlit.com
Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00380169629035410557noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8537863831987011463.post-13056318031223062302009-11-05T05:19:00.000-08:002009-11-05T05:21:21.407-08:00New Lord's PrayerThis arrived in my email this morning. LSaraCauldwell@gmail.com.

NEW School prayer :

Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom thing..
The law is specific, the law is precise..
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks....
We can carry smut, but not the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen
http://syndicated.livejournal.com/kidlit.com
Passionate Internet Voices Talk Radiohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00380169629035410557noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8537863831987011463.post-34594332529827515802009-11-02T19:10:00.000-08:002009-11-02T19:12:24.224-08:00Financial EconomistDan Shaffer is coming to PIVTR on November 4 from 9 to 10 p.m.
Please join us by going to http://internetvoicesradio.com and click on the Logo.
It will take you straight to windows media.
Want to join in the interview?
