What is Upon Request Internet talk radio?
Remember when you went into a diner and sat at a table there was a small version of a juke box?
Well, PIVTR has created a juke box for playing audio and video shows Upon Request.
Like the juke box, you must deposit coins in the slots, pick your selection and it started playing your favorite music.
This week ONLY, February 5 through February 12, PIVTR will run a Beta Version of Upon Request. That's right, tell PIVTR what audio program you want to listen to again, and get to hear it instantly.
Playing Times for Upon Request begin at 2 p.m. eastern standard time and ends at 4 p.m. the peak audience listening hours.
So, get those orders in and let's hear some Upon Request audio programs.
Video will be offered on another beta trial so get those book trailers out to me. This will also be offered for a week as beta.
After February 12th, it will become fee driven.

CRAZY TUESDAY elected for EPPIE Nomination
Ann Arbor, November 24th 2009
PIVTR's 'CRAZY TUESDAY' show is nominated for the prestigious EPIC "Friend of e-Publishing" Award.
Electronically Published Internet Connection (EPIC) President, Brenna Lyons says:
"Rowena (Cherry) has been an anti-piracy advocate for many years. She's former indie/e and currently working in NY, with e-books there. Unlike some people who make the leap, Rowena is fiercely protective of all facets of the industry, including indie. She oversees 9 blogs, several of which address anti-piracy and e-publishing issues. She's also been instrumental in starting and maintaining several anti-piracy groups, including Charlee Boyett-Compo's AuthorsAgainstE-BookTheft Yahoogroup, and supports still more. She's used her radio show to do shows on things like anti-piracy, copyright, and authors helping authors, which not only helps the industry but EPIC, as well. Rowena has wonderful contacts in the industry and is often sought for quotes and interviews, which she refers to EPIC in often. She's one of our biggest supporters, and she's certainly doing her all to support the industry. Most recently, she was quoted at the FCC hearings on net neutrality, on the subject of protecting our copyrights in a digital society. Overall, I think we could do MUCH worse for a nominee.
Brenna"

EPIC members are voting now for one of three nominees. The nominees are Crazy Tuesday, hosted by Rowena Cherry, ARe (Lori and Barb) and Baen Webscriptions (Arnold Bailey). Awards will be announced in March 2010 at the EPIC annual convention EPICon.

Mac Users
Hello,
Here are the instructions for watching a Windows Media stream from a Mac:
Streaming videos in the Windows Media format are compatible with MAC OS.
For OS X you will need to download Flip4Mac Windows Media plugin
Note: When connecting to Windows Media streaming servers, the Flip4Mac may try to download the requested media instead of streaming it. This can cause the video stream to stutter or loop back after a few minutes of play. To correct this:
Open the System Preferences utility
Click Flip4Mac WMV to open the Flip4Mac preferences pane
Open the Movie tab
Select "Create streaming movies"
Close System Preferences and restart any open browsers
The next time you access a WMA or WMV stream, the plugin will display the streaming progress bar instead of the download bar, and the stream should play correctly.
For OS 8/9 you will need Media Player 7.1
After you've downloaded the correct codec or Media Player you may need to quit your browser and then re-open it for the player to work correctly.

Feedback on Proposed Stamp
Lillian,
I thought PIVTR was non-political, non-religiously biased.
This is the type of message that belongs in email spam, not on a serious organization's blog.PIVTR is not a mouthpiece for religious hate speech, is it?
IMHO, take it down.

Lillian, I personally agree 100% with the person who sent it to you, yet I don’t believe it has a place on PIVTR unless you want to become political and send out others from those supporting other positions. We have MSNBC, Fox, CNN etc for that. . .in addition to all of the radio shows. It is your call and I will support you either way. I am just concerned this will open up something you do not have the time to deal with?? Enjoy your day, Joan
I think it is salacious, hate filled and an indirect and dangerous attack on Obama---and inaccurate these were not Muslim attacks, they were attacks by Muslim's . Hitler was born a Christian- so those worshipping Christ were responsible for the Holocast. The people who are protesting this stamp should be sent to Afganistan. Post it and your part of the problem. Carol Schlanger
I found it a bit partisan (the call to boycott a Muslim themed stamp).
Not all Muslims are guilty of the atrocities you mention, and many Americans/Protestants/Catholics throughout history have been guilty of worse atrocities.
I suppose much depends whether there are Chinese holiday/Christian holiday/Kwanzaa holiday/Jewish holiday stamps. If there are.... maybe there should be one Muslim stamp.
Just a thought.
Rowena Cherry
What are YOUR thoughts about this proposed stamp from the OBama government?
Let PIVTR know. LSaraCauldwell@gmail.com.
